Qualifications

  • Are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). RPs work with individuals, couples and families in individual and group settings to bring about positive change in the client’s thinking, feeling, behaviour and social functioning.

  • Are registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). OCSWSSW registrants can perform the controlled act of psychotherapy and use the title “psychotherapist”, provided they do so in compliance with the Social Work and Social Service Work Act (SWSSWA), the regulations and the bylaws.

  • Those that have their RP (Qualifying) are completely done their official training required to provide psychotherapy. The CRPO requires its members to have a period of “Qualifying” after they are done their training. It means that they have to write an exam and get some more supervision hours.

  • Interns work under the direct supervision of an experienced therapist. In addition to their coursework, all interns complete additional training and receive regular consultation throughout their practicum. Working with our interns gives clients the opportunity to access supervised, low-cost services, while also giving our interns the opportunities to grow their therapeutic skills and experiences.
